Starlings

In the year 2000 I've been to Paris. Notre-Dame Cathedral was in a process of reconstruction, multiple passes on the roof and on different levels were closed. I wanted to look at Paris from the top of Cathedral and dared to step over the yellow strap. This is what I saw - the square beneath was reflecting the sky and I imagined what would it like if I turn the sky upside-down. The woman on the painting was my wife of the time, who was crazily attractive to all men, unfortunately including myself. So I painted her naked seating on the gargoyle calling her starlings. She is pretending not to notice a dead starling behind - her ex-lover. Also in the left bottom corner of the painting there is a subtle shadow of the cage with another starling in it - myself.
